Sebastian Serra, a SAG-AFTRA member, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is currently based out of Atlanta. He began his ballet studies at the age of nine. Around this time he also started his acting education. In the following years he focused most of his time studying ballet in "Escuela Especializada en Ballet Julian E. Blanco and later joining the "Conservatorio de Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico" were he kept training and later was promoted to company member with the "Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico". Sebastian also trained in different summer programs around the states including the ones at School of American Ballet, The Rock School, Virginia School of the Arts, Orlando Ballet, San Francisco Ballet and Boston Ballet eventually getting offered a traineeship at Boston Ballet where he trained and dance with the company. Next he went on to join companies such as Festival Ballet Providence and Orlando Ballet.
After a very successful dancing career, Sebastian decided to return to his first passion, acting. Juggling his jobs as a dancer and actor for a few years, he decided to focus his energy on acting full-time. He worked on commercials for TV and Internet, short films, and an independent feature film. During this time, he was cast as Braulio in the Academy Award nominated remake of West Side Story directed by Steven Spielberg, which was his big studio movie debut.
Sebastian's awards include an Honorable mention in Young Arts, a program of The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts and the 1st prize in classical and contemporary dance in the regionals of the Youth American Grand Prix. Sebastian was also featured in the So You Think You Can Dance audition episodes during their 10th & 11th seasons on FOX. He's also an American Ballet Theater National Training Curriculum certified teacher.
